The enchanting lush greenery which covers the Livigno valley instead of the winter snow makes it the perfect location for a holiday in the great outdoors: hundreds of km for mountain hiking in the Stelvio National Park, with paths and trails for all levels, peaks to conquer and views which will be difficult to forget.

Pianeta Oro welcomes many cyclists who have chosen Trepalle as their departure point for touring and mountain biking in Livigno and the surrounding area: there are numerous mountain bike trails and in the immediate vicinity you can also find the Mottolino Bike Park, where you can raise your adrenalin levels further.

Shopping in Livigno

Livigno is a duty-free area with no VAT applied to purchases: this makes it a perfect location for buying all categories of goods, from food to tobacco, alcohol to high-end technology. The pedestrianised shopping street in the centre of Livigno offers many opportunities for retail therapy, and close to the Pianeta Oro apartments in Trepalle you can also find shops selling duty free products at great prices.

Adventure Park

Larix Park is an adventure park in Livigno for the whole family. You can enjoy different circuits while suspended at different heights above the ground, always in the security of your harness. There are trails of different difficulty, rope swings, Tibetan bridges to cross, and trees to leap between: guaranteed fun for adults and children alike in the beautiful natural setting.

What to visit in the surrounding area

Trepalle is a great base to explore the surrounding area of Livigno: within just a few kilometres you can visit the main tourist attractions of the Valtellina region and also neighbouring Switzerland. Some of the day trips we would recommend from Livigno include Bormio with its thermal spa, Saint Moritz and Pontresina, Valposchiavo, Val Venosta, Val Monastero and an unforgettable journey in the Bernina Express red train - a Unesco world heritage site - which travels along the Rhaetian Railway from Tirano to Saint Moritz amongst extraordinary countryside, reaching 2250 metres of altitude at Bernina.

Ski in Livigno

The Pianeta Oro apartments in Trepalle look onto the Mottolino ski lifts just 300 metres away, where you can purchase ski passes and you have direct access to ski slopes which extend across the countryside. This area contains all levels of ski runs and descents, one of the most famous Snowparks in Europe for snowboarders and freestylers and nursery slopes for children and beginners.

Cross-country skiing in Livigno

Livigno offers many km of cross-country runs for everyone who loves this particular sport, and one trail crosses the whole valley is snow-covered from October onwards thanks to snow conserved from the previous year. This particular trail is site of the internationally-renowned Nordic ski competition, the Sgambeda. To enjoy cross-country skiing in Livigno, the free shuttle bus is just a stone’s throw from the accommodation.

Mountain hikes are not just a summer activity: thanks to snowshoes, this can also be enjoyed all winter long.
